the owl and the pussycat;

our mother was the pussy-cat, our father was the owl,
and so we're partly little beasts and partly little fowl,
the brothers of our family have feathers and they hoot,
while all the sisters dress in fur and have long tails to boot.

from the faber book of nonsense verse, 1938

  3. s. oh! i wish they were black. they are a funny grey blue, but the sunlight plays beautiful tricks on the colour at any given moment in the day. :)

    alexandra, thank you so much. the rest of the words are very strange, and a little sad? http://www.nonsenselit.org/Lear/pw/cop.html

  4. why do i choose to spend a friday evening in your environment(s), away from family and friends? because here it's safer, more quiet. here i can get some work done. here i can face down what it is that i find so prohibitive about my own skin.
